Option to use the "short title" as the picture caption.
Add a check box to the custom page to allow the short title to be used as the picture caption or always use the short title as the picture caption when filled in. When custom items are longer than 42 characters the picture caption must always be edited. In recommendations this is not such an issue as you can make a short item and use notes and the "set as default" option. However in descriptions or limitations the set as default is not an option and using the short title as the picture caption would speed up report writing.

Derle ParmerI don’t have a problem with adding a check box to make this possible IF WANTED but don’t agree with it being site wide. I abbreviate quite a few of my short names to find defects faster and don’t want those on every pic.

Derle ParmerIf they do this they need to add more than 32 characters then so we can actually label things better... how about 40 guys... 40 would be better!

Greg HanberryYes! Please do this.
Good point Derle. I put extra symbols in the item short name to indicate that I need to do other things. They would not be suitable for a photo title. What if you just did a separate box in the 'Customize' tab where we can write in whatever we like. It's a bit of work to put them all in, but once done, it never has to be done again. It definitely eats a lot of time doing them all at final edit. -

Greg HanberryWhat I've done as a workaround is to make sure that the first four or five words of my 'Condition' can be used as a photo title. This way all I need to do is some quick delete from the right hand side down from the full 32 characters. It's also nice cuz there is a quicker, consistent reference from what is written in the 'Condition' - to the photo Sometimes they are on separate pages, which can be confusing to a lay person.
